It’s that time of the year again folks where finance meets exercise in a fun-filled evening (and night) that is sure to be the finance event of the year. That’s right – last year’s highly successful Bloomberg Square Mile Relay Sydney is back again in 2017 for a 2nd year running.
Time to lace up those runners and get ready!
Bloomberg Square Mile Relay 2017
Being the 2nd leg in a global race series that sees competing teams from top tier cities like Dubai, New York and London, the Bloomberg Square Mile Relay Sydney 2017 promises to be bigger and better than last year’s inaugural race.
Last year saw over 500 corporates professionals sign-up for the event, with runners battling it out despite rainfall halfway through the race.
The winners J.P. Morgan took out the title of being the fittest finance team in Australia by completing the 10 X 1 mile race in a blistering pace of 1 hour 02 minute, pipping Macquarie Bank to the finish by just 8 seconds.
The corporate race of 2017
Bloomberg Square Mile Relay Sydney 2017 will again see teams of 10 race around the famous Darling Harbour precinct in a 1 mile (1.6km) unconventional course, making their way on Sydney’s footpaths snaking through the city’s iconic buildings and bridges.
The race format remains largely unchanged; each team member runs their allocated 1 mile around the course and passes a baton onto his/her teammate who then continues to repeat the same process.
The team that collectively completes this in the shortest amount of time wins.
This year the stakes are equally as high with the winning team can lay claim to the title of Australia’s most “Fittest Corporate Team” in 2017. A new prize this year being introduced is the award for the “Fastest Mixed Team” for teams with 4 or more females and at least 1 male runner.
On top of the all-important bragging rights, the winners also get the privilege of donating AUD$10,000 to a local charity to be determined at a later date.
That’s definitely worth something to all the sports fans out there.
Bring your friends and family this time
Bloomberg Square Mile Relay Sydney 2017 is designed to foster teamwork and solidify mate-ships so there are also opportunities to get your friends and family to come along to the event to cheer you onto the finish line. They also get the added bonus of staying and enjoying the night’s festivities along with race participants in the race village at Tumbalong park.
Underneath Sydney starlights, the opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the most senior finance executives in Australia is probably the networking event of the year so don’t miss out on this chance to get your name out there to those who matters.
End the night with a bang
Of course it won’t be a proper event without food and entertainment as just rewards at the end. A top DJ would be on deck to bring home the event, giving participants (and guests) the chance to let loose after what will undoubtedly be a hotly contested race to the finish.
